WISE is a research study designed to gain more information about the characteristics and clinical course of sarcoidosis in order to help physicians and researchers better understand and treat the disease.
Sarcoidosis is a multi-organ disease that affects each person differently. The cause is unknown, limiting our ability to prevent the disease. Diagnosis and treatment of sarcoidosis can also be difficult. WISE is a research study designed to gain more information about the characteristics and clinical course of sarcoidosis in order to help physicians and researchers better understand and treat the disease. We will be gathering information from a large number of sarcoidosis patients using a web-based survey.
If you agree to participate, we will ask you to fill-out an initial survey. Then, you will fill-out an additional survey every six months to keep us updated on your clinical course. The surveys contain questions about exposures, occupations, history, and medical tests. We also ask you to describe the ways in which sarcoidosis has affected your quality of life and relationships. All information collected is confidential and will not be revealed to anyone outside of the research team.
We greatly appreciate your time to assist the Worldwide Sarcoidosis Research Study.
